My hardwired progressive unit has been great. It has detected faulty circuits 3 times in 3 years. Once installed I have nothing extra to do but plug in. The Progressive unit monitors /checks everything from that point.
PI is simply the best.
Portable or hard-wired.
And you'll only have to "but it once" - so a failure won't be a pain in the butt - or your wallet!..;)
BTW - *if* you use the PI with a gen - you will get ground fault shut-downs.
