Sure, but count yourself lucky because in the heat of the moment it can be really easy to forget about backing up at an acute angle ... not done it myself, fortunately, but I have personally seen it with a friend who managed to bend his friction sway bar like a pretzel. It can and does happen so getting into the habit of first removing that sway control before backing up isn't a bad idea at all. The OP never indicated whether he's a newbie to all this or not but in reading his original post I get the impression this is his first camper and if that's the case it would be really easy for him to forget. I ultimately solved this same issue for myself by ditching the Eaz-Lift WD and friction sway bar I had been using with our TrailCruiser hybrid by upgrading to an Equal-i-zer when we bought our Spree TT as there was no sway bar required and therefore no sway bar to remove. :W
