Tahoe vs Suburban

We like the Tahoe for general use around town but when towing is
the Suburban or Yukon XL a better choice. Anyone experience both
SUV's and notice any major differences towing. Our RV or TT weighs about 6,300 dry and is 28 feet in length. I hate making $65,000 mistakes and being a unhappy camper with my decisions so we are looking for advice from you all. Maybe it could even prevent a split since she wants the Tahoe or stubby Yukon and I think we need the
longer wheel base suburban. Don't suggest a Chrysler product I
have never had good luck with any of them. Ford seems to have
black marks for reliability in a well known consumer magazine. Thanks!
  • no need to beef up to GvWR unless you plan on actually loading it up to that. see what loaded/wet weight is and allow for some extra stuff.

  • Dry weights do not mean much since nobody tows with that weight. Best choice would be do use the GVWR of the trailer when considering your tow vehicle. Make sure the tow rating and load capacity are within the specs of your tow vehicle. Realistic hitch weight could be near 1000#. Good luck with your decision.
