I think that most of these proctologists just need to be led around. Think about it, they just craw up someone's butt and don't have to think about their speed, when to brake or steering direction. They can better concentrate on their cell phones with just an occasional glance at your butt.

These days, I think the cell phone is the reason most times. It just drives me bonkers the last few years seeing all the people with their heads looking down at their cell phone while on the highway.
One of my sisters is a tailgator. We were moving once, and I was driving a Uhaul box truck. Sister was following, brother-in-law behind her. I almost never saw sister in my side view mirrors, she was practically kissing the rear bumper of my truck. BIL said something to her when we got home - she had NO idea that she was tailgating, she just considered it "normal" driving.
A friend of mine is a left lane cruiser. He doesn't go slow, but just stays in the left lane all the time. Basically won't pull over until a car gets on his bumper.
I cruise at about 67mph when towing. Right lane or center lane always. Side roads I've found the speed limits to be quite accurate for me while towing on roads I don't know. Locals may think I'm going slow on local roads, but I think that of out of staters on local roads that I know so it goes both ways.
