Can you please tell me where I can purchase one of these? I have Googled the heck out of RV Extension Cord Connection Covers and there is nothing out there enclosed big enough for where my two 50 amp cords are connected.
Well even though the last people to post was 11 years ago, someone responded and yes there are many ways to do this.
However like many RV “products” they’re borne out of some weird thing someone dreams up and then all the RV newbs and some experienced think it’s necessary.
This would be an example of unnecessary. Maybe if left for long term but then just get a proper weatherproof connection.
Short of being in standing water, rain doesn’t short out electrical plugs.
Nor does it affect generators as many would have you believe.yeah, I've never sealed an extension cord connection. Another example of a solution in search of a problem.
Agreed. And “marketing” in all areas generally yields products that are more show than go. And we all buy/try something that we don’t need or learn it wasn’t necessary.
But IMO, the RV accessory market is one that is overloaded with these widgets or chachkis that are just unnecessary or could accomplish the same thing for less or $0.
Markets like RVs are unique to marketing as there is a huge customer base and enough commons sense , skill or mechanical aptitude is required to go RVing that there is a large % of RVers that are vulnerable to some of the marketing due to lack or experience or knowledge!
Funny, I googled "large extension cord cover" and bunch of options came up, including RV specific ones. For that matter you could get a cheap tackle box and cut slots for the cords, or any type of waterproof plastic box and make your own.
