Reminds me of a "paid site" at a KOA years ago that let us set up our tent at the rear of the campground right next to a thicket of trees. 3:00 am the Skunk Train rambles by, only about 15' the other side of the trees. Four of us were out of our sleeping bags and wide eyed trying to figure out what the heck just happened.
Reminded me of a couple of motels which hubby picked out 'way back when' and no more picking places after darkness. The last one he picked out was one in which we thought the train was in our room instead of 15' behind the motel, he is not allowed to pick out any hotels/motels if we are caught again in a situation where we need a 'room' for the night.
Well at midnight a train rumbled by and blew its horn - scared the heck out of us and we both bolted straight up out of bed .. all we could think of was that song about "train ran thru the middle of the house" ...
We try to stop by 3 or 4 pm for an RV spot now when traveling, and most times we will go online to see where the train tracks are before even considering an rv park.
It is so nice now rather than 10+ years ago when technology was not as good, but can still happen !
