Southern BC Canada, Driving, driving, dark, late, getting tired...
Here's a place to pull off the road...
Pitched the tent on a black moonless night in the Corolla headlights at 1:40 a.m. on a nice grassy patch under the pines...
crawl into the sleeping bag.... pleasant mountain air... zzzzZZZZZ
about 3 hours later crack of dawn awakened to the cheerful earthquake sound of a set of CPR SD40's at full chat...
followed by snooze alarms provided by log trucks jaking for the stop sign...
We had camped across the ditch from the rail line, and 1/8 mile from the stop sign...
got up, made coffee
Haven't gone back to that campsite ever!
Could have been worse,
I've heard someone stopping for the night like that beside a road and being awaken in the midle of the night by grizly bear trying to take a bite outta his face..
Luckily the man didn't hesitate and punched the bear so hard on the nose that it took of running..
