Texas RV Parks next 6 months.

We have kids and grand kids in Texas and suspect that it will be extremely hard to find a RV park with openings for the foreseeable future anywhere near Houston. I see where Texas State Parks are offering free camping for displaced folks. What a horrible disaster. My best wishes for all of the folks in that area.

  • I bet a lot of winter Texans are going to be looking at different areas. I stayed in an RV park in Louisiana that was built specifically for displaced people. Not a bad idea. It was later destroyed by a tornado....Maybe Texas can build some temporary RV parks for these folks.
  • Wonderful to see the services available being put into use in creative ways. After Andrew at the Coast Guard housing area in Miami, we set up a triage facility for minor injuries, had a couple of hospital corpsmen working out of a Picnic Pavilion to assist our folks who were injured the day after the storm, and opened it to all in the area, a portable generator, a solid roof to shed the rain, a few willing hands and hearts, and we went right back to helping others.
  • Yes, I'm sure displaced people and work-campers will fil up available sites for a very long time.
Watching the news just makes my heart ache.
