Thanksgiving week at Zion here we come.... reserve early

Just finished booking the week of Thanksgiving at the Watchman campground in Zion National Park. We will be butt to butt quite literally with our best friends, they in B33 and we in B07. They have a 40 Winnebago Ultimate Advantage Class A and we will be enjoying our new (to us), Nexus Phantom 23P Class C. We roll in on monday the 25th and head out Saturday the 30th.

While they will power straight through in a one day run from southern California we will break up the trip into at least two days, probably staying a night at Lee's Ferry right on the Colorado River just below the Glen Canyon dam. From there it is less than 120 miles up to Jacob Lake and on into Zion. I will be checking in at 1201. :B

Internet booking makes it easy to select just the right site(s) and in this case there were no junk fees. Five nights cost $45 with our geezer pass, not bad for 30 amp service in arguably the most beautiful place on earth. This will be our third and their second trip as they joined us in June of 2012 for a great week.... but it is a little warm in June. :R If you are thinking about future trips know that many great locations offer you the ability to book well in advance. I cannot imagine anything being available for that week for much longer. :C

Now if I can just complete my new knee rehab it will be nice to be able to take advantage of all of the incredible hiking Zion has to offer. :C

Good choice; Watchman's one of our favorite destinations. The 1 day drive from So Cal is not too bad. We've done it twice.
