As for Honda generators...The dependability of Honda is without question, as is their db output. How long will those Champion generators continue to put out full power? Unknown at this stage of the game since the small Champions are newer to the market. Depending on a user's needs, spending the add'l money can indeed be worth it.
And the general statement that "quiet" generator owners tend to disobey quiet time rules is bogus, IMO. On the contrary, I think that those with quiet generators have already demonstrated their concern with neighbors, and are thus more likely to follow the rules, not less. And even if not, I'd much rather a quiet generator run 30 minutes past "quiet time" than a noisy one run prior to that "quiet time".
