Well of course it's a free country and you have the right to spend your money the way you want. That was not the issue I brought up though.
If you think it's sound reasoning to put form before function and Name Brand before actual performance on a per dollar basis and paying 3 times as much to do the same thing, ie provide electricity to your RV...than that is certainly your prerogative and your reasoning.
My point was more to the marketing that makes people want that brand name for maybe reasons of status or percieved performance or something more ethereal.
To me its just unsound economics.
I too like nice things and have had many expensive, fast cars. Do I need them, NO. Can I get to the grocery store in a used chevy...sure. but a car or a piece of furniture or artwork has an intrinsic art value and or performance value to it that I just dont personally get from a generator. Like I said in the beginning it is a personal list.
