I'm not in NDakota I am in California on my way to Vegas and just spent the last three plus months in the Baja where I put 3400 miles on my truck and trailer.
I am passing through Vegas on my way to Summer in Alaska.
So I keep plenty busy.
To some of the others that may have missed the point of my post too.
All sub groups of our society are targeted by Marketers, but as I said in my OP, RV 'ers seem to me to be more vulnerable or susceptible to falling for some of these ploys.
Why? It may be because many are buying into a large purchase of something they have never owned before and are unfamiliar with. There is a lot at stake.
This is why so much of the marketing of RV products is based on FEAR. Fear that your toilet will clog and you will have a trailer full of...well you know, fear that you will be unsafe if you dont have a sway bar, Fear that you will look like a newbie without that special piece of equipment.
And of course fear that if you don't have a Plastic Pink Flamingo you will be ostracized at the RV park :)
It is a serious subject that as consumers we should be aware of and given the amount of complaining I read on this forum about folks tribulations with this product or that some might take this to heart.
And again I was targeting only those products I felt were truly unnecessary or in the case of the Honda Genset way over priced, yet we are told by marketers all the time how truly necessary they are. (Except for the Flamingos of course which was there to lighten the subject a bit)
I did enjoy reading many of the responses even the ones that disagree with me. The only one that truly stumped me was from DSDP DON and why he felt it necessary to personalize the issue in such a petty way...but I expect that on here occasionally.
