Daytona fire dept. has two flamingos with spots painted on them as if they were dalmatians , called ' dalmingos '. They were stolen several years ago and the theft was written up big time in local media . several weeks later the newspaper received a picture of the dalmingos on the Great Wall of China , then on a canal boat in Paris , skiing in the Alps, etc . After a world tour they were returned safely by the dalmingonappers .
