I don't follow how the Honda gens fit into the scheme of hype or scam. I've seen very few Honda commercials or been encouraged to buy one by any RV dealer. RV dealers don't care.. they just want to sell you what they have, and I don't see Hondas in the RV parts store. I made my choice simply by walking through campgrounds and hearing all the others.
I do hear a lot of justification for not buying one because they're "over priced." I'm not sure what that means. Is it overpriced for that person's budget, or is that saying Honda is deliberately marking up its cost because of its name? That sounds like a conspiracy theory. To me, it's just "you get what you pay for." My two Hondas have been running great for over 10 years.
