I live in Clovis and made the trip to Port Angeles about 5 years ago. Thing to remember. In Oregon you cannot pump your own fuel. You can use the shoulder of the road on I-5 when going up hill in Oregon. No sales tax in Oregon. If pulling a trailer you can drive the same speed as the cars in Or and Wa. People in both Or and Wa have a snob attitude to people from Ca. They also have a sport of holding up traffic on two lane roads. I would be behind someone doing 40 to 45 in a 55 mile a hour highway, then when you get to a passing lane they would raise to end to the passing lane and show down. I had this done to me several times. In Wa and Or you will be coming down a steep grade in a 55 zone, as soon as you come around a sharp turn a in the turn you will find a new speed zone of 40 to 25 and a cop a few feet away. I was disappointed of the air along I-5. Air to the west was clear and nice looking, air to the east was as smoggy as downtown LA. You cannot buy booz in Wa on Sunday and you have to go to a State store to buy the hard stuff. I am not a drinker so it didn't bother me. The have more rest stops in WA and OR. They were clean and nice. I found food at the tourist traps is cheaper then expected. So enjoy your trip and don't let them know you are from California.
