Fresno in August...must be work related? New Horizons looked ok a couple of years ago when I drove through.

Yep - have to teach a class. No offense to those that love the state, but I prefer just to stay long enough to visit family and see the fun stuff.

Don't know where you are teaching your class. Fresno covers a large land mass. Blackstone North RV Park is probably more centrally located than anything else available. Not much to choose from. Be prepared for HOT!
Say what you want about Fresno (Lwiddis) but I'll take it any day over the SoCal rat race.

If you don't want to be IN Fresno, but within an hour, you could try Codorniz Recreation Area (COE). They have some sites with full hookups, some with just water and electrical, and some dry. They also have a dump station on the way out. It will be hot, but lots of wildlife. It's on Eastman Lake so you could do some fishing when you're off. It's in Raymond. About 30 minutes east of Chowchilla and Hwy 99.

We stayed at Fresno Mobile Home and RV Park back in 2009 and it was fine then and well run. It is mostly mobile homes but a few RV sites interspersed with them. You're definitely not camping but it served us well for the three nights we stayed as we went the rodeo.

I don't think you will find anything to great in Fresno as far as RV parks are concerned. You might want to consider the one in Chowchilla, I think it's called Quail Run. Very high rated and it's about a 40 minute drive on the 99 to Fresno. Good luck.

Not sure the exact location for the class. It will either be downtown or close to the fairgrounds. Would like to be about 20 to 30 min drive. Monday = Friday will be work(ish). Weekends we plan to see several sights. (Yosemite, etc.)

There is a place on Blackstone just south of Herndon. Can't remember the name but I've been through it a few times, perhaps a local can ID it? Reasonably well kept but nothing to write home about. It appears to be a place working travelers hang. I was building a TV studio a few blocks from there several years ago and would have stayed there if the company would have wized up and payed me the proper mileage instead of x3 the hotel rates.
