2) When I'm looking at a long trip on a highway that looks like it's 300 miles long, I don't want the GPS telling me there's a merge or change every 20 miles or so. My GPS makes it look like I'm traveling on 10 different highways when in reality, it's only one long one.
My Garmin Nuvi does the same thing. It drives me nuts. I guess it would be useful if there weren't large signs on the highway telling me which lanes I need to be in to stay on the highway I am on.
When we travel to see family in NJ a few times a year my Garmin tells me, after getting onto I-95, that it is 504 miles until I turn onto I-295, the Richmond bypass in VA. Which is what I want. However, on the return trip, when I get back onto I-95 from the Richmond bypass, it doesn't tell me there is 504 miles until I get off of I-95 in Brunswick, GA. It tells me there are X number of miles until I have to stay on I-95. It's not until I get south of I-20 in South Carolina that it finally tells me there are 244 miles until I get off of I-95.
I know it sounds petty, but it just irks me. I haven't found a way to change that.
