It's pretty hard to justify the cost of a $30,000 truck camper, but my rationale was this: I will own it until I die. The camper has a 30 year life, that is $1,000 per year usage. That $1,000 does't go very far on hotel rooms. A hotel typcially costs $200 plus per night where we travel. A campground is usually $50 or less per night. Pretty decent savings there. There is an ROI. In addition, I deduct the interest as a 2nd home. Additional savings. If you put solar on your rig, you can additional tax credits. Pretty cool.
