Exactly. At the end of the day, all tariffs do is raise the cost of goods for the consumer.

Similar to a national sales tax that just applies to imported goods. I am more in favor of 5% to 10% on everything from everywhere instead of picking winners and losers in the market. Besides the government could use the money. Less income tax and more consumption tax.
