The smell of a dead mouse..
We haven't seen any evidence of mice being in the living space of our trailer but now we have a smell of what must be a dead mouse. I suspect the smell originates from the area above the belly membra...

Why in the world would you want to entice them in with bait? Trap or no trap, bad idea! Why not take care of the opening, obviously you have identified the opening......stuff it with brass/steel wool and spray foam it!
Trust me, I don't need to be educated on the subject. Setting traps with bait on the inside of your unit in an attempt to capture upon entry is a REAL BAD idea. Now, if they are already inside.....bait/trap away! Once eliminated, remove the bait and traps.
