- why would solids remain in the hose if you flush with grey water. Never heard of this being an issue. solids remain in the hose because the hose is corrugated and the solids settle in the cavities. Flushing helps, but doesn't solve the problem.
- won't be smelly if rinsed with gray water. It really depends how often you flush. If you do it three times, you are probably right.
- You'd have to really abuse a hose to collapse it. Not normally an issue. True, I don't disagree. Not normally a problem, but can be.
- the cheaper vinyl hoses can/will develop pinhole leaks but can be avoided by getting a better quality hose like the Valterra Viper with TPE material. Again, true.
- donut not necessary and ordinary 90 deg fitting works fine.True, just costs extra. Exactly as I wrote.
- setting up a slunky hose support only takes seconds. I don't even use them anymore and just lay the hose on the ground and walk the contents along (very fast).True, I'd say the long term campers are more likely to use the ramps.
- what's the problem with keeping gray tank valves closed? It's one more thing to worry about. It's especially a problem if you have 2 kids, run laundry and a dishwasher.
- slowest to set up and rinse? Strongly disagree. Doesn't take me long to set up or rinse. You can't compare the amount of time needed to pull out the macerator pipe vs the stinky slinky. The macerator is much faster, period. Some MH coaches even have a cutout in the bay for the flexible pipe. Just open the bay door, grab the macerator end unit, attach to the sewer inlet and close the door.
