Thermostat

Ive got a Honeywell Pro 5000, thermostat, Can any one tell me if i can use it to replace the on in the trailer and how hard to install. any help would be appreciated Thanks Kay N5LUI
  • To use a home type thermostat on your RV HVAC systems you need a self powered or at least capable of operating from 12VDC. Not familiar with that model, so you need to figure it our for yourself. Most common is a Hunter Douglas model that is self powered and available from places like Walmart for around 20 dollars. With the addition of a mini switch you can still retain the two speed AC fan feature.
  • As donn stated it needs to be self powered (has batteries) or runs on 12V.

Is there a specific model number, or is it just a 5000?
  • I Have a Honeywell Focus Pro 5000, the mod. # TH5220D1029 it has 2 AAA batterys but think they are for digital read-out only. It is a 6 wire terminal, 1-+7.5 volt red,2- cool Yel, 3-Fur-wht,4-hi-fan-blu,5-fan-org,6- gnd-grn. the orginial t-stat is Dometic slide. the furnace is Suburban. hope this helps. Kay N5LUI
