Thieves at campsite!

You are lucky that is all they got.

We have never had a campsite theft in 50 years of camping .
We mainly camp in Oregon and often are gone during the day .
On the lake , taking a hike , occasional bike ride .
Actually , I am more surprised we have not been thieved .
But then I covet your Yeti cooler .
I use one of the metal clad coleman coolers as a raccoon proof container .

Never happened to us but it's no surprise, people are people, sorry to hear about it.....did you report it to the park Ranger?

Really sorry to hear that.

From what I heard Yeti Coolers are not cheap.

Been fortunate, to not have anything walk away, traveling with high end bikes, I do keep a cable & lock, and routinely use when storying them outside (to deter the quick grab).

Beware of rainy nights, they can steal everything. It's harder for you to hear whats going on outside. We camp with our dogs and they can hear a lot more then us.

We have never had or known anyone who had anything stolen.

We leave TT unlocked when we leave. We even leave keys in the boat all downriggers and electrical equipment have never been touched.

We always say it isn't a fellow camper who would steal from you.

Make sure to make a report to the Ranger or a Police Log Entry with the local P.D.

There's a 50/50 chance that may "know who done it!" At the very least you'll let them know that these scum are in the area.

Mother in law was the proud new owner of the Yeti (12 hours old). I commented about maybe locking it up that day. I think it actually attracted the attention of the thieves. I am glad that they only took what they did; however, I think they only took what they could carry. My $60 coleman cooler was too cheap and too heavy to take. We did report the theft to the ranger and he filed a report. Another camper across from us saw a group of 20 year olds walking around the campground at 1 am without flashlights or shirts that night. I'm sure it was them but what can you do? The other camper said he felt bad that he did not report them or confront them. I told him don't feel bad as his safety might have been comprised. There was no cell phone reception in the campground so he couldn't have called the ranger. He did say that he was going to buy some Harbor Frieght surveillance cameras after this event to record his campsite.

Makes me glad I have my tahoe to keep stuff in instead of pickup truck.

I recently installed motion sensor led porch lights. They flash a small led to let you know they are active. My neighbors thought it was an alarm system .
