Thieves hit our campsite in the middle of the night at Mission Tejas State Parke in East Texas this weekend. They stole a Yeti cooler and 2 campchairs and some beer in the middle of the night. Guess...

One thing I learned when I was in the public school system for high school: If it is visible, it will be a target for thieves, so expect it to disappear eventually. If it is valuable, lock it up or bolt it down. Make the thief have to fight for it, at least for a bit of time at the minimum.
I've learned that every place has its predators and scavengers, be it campgrounds, festivals, or even dry camping in the desert. Basic security precautions tend to go a long way... and if it is really valuable (special sentimental rings), don't bring it on a RV trip. If it is valuable (but replaceable, like a generator), insure it, and chain it down.
