First,,,,IMO, don't go for the transmission pump. Altho some posters here have and like it, it just opens up the potential for leaks...and is expensive. IMO.
4 down: I had a stick shift 1986 Ford Contour. Leave the key in the switch, (Steering free) put it in neutral and go.
I had a 2007 Chevy HHR automatic. Leave key in switch (steering free) pull one fuse (put in a toggle switch or a fuse extender...(makes it easier) put it in neutral, and off y'go.
A 2011 Ford Ranger 4WD, automatic, had to buy a "Ford Only" "transfer case neutral kit", leave key in switch (free steering) follow a simple procedure, and off y'go. (Funny, the Ranger 2WD Auto is NOT 4-down towable but the 4WD auto is)
These 3 toads were excellent as toads and also as daily drivers.
