Timbrens vs Hellwig helper spring

I will be towing near GVW capacity and have looked at Timbrens VS Hellwig Helper springs. I do not intend to use either product to get above my GVW I just wonder if they offer a little peace of mind and possibly Stability.

Thanks for your replies. I am going with the Timbrens.

How come you did not throw air bags into the equation?
The main reason is I am not trying to change carrying capacity I simply want to add some stability to the side to side or roll when loaded. I have about 80,000 miles under my belt with Ride Rite bags and I know their capabilities. The helper spring or Timbens are withing the budget.
  • I have had hellwig helpers on an f150, airlift airbags on a coil sprung chevy avalanche, and now have timbrens on a gmc yukon xl 2500. I like the timbrens the best. My yukon has the quadrasteer system with a dana 60 rear axle. Timbren did not make a helper specifically for this axle, so the helpers are in contact with the axle all of the time. It makes for a rough ride when unloaded, but it tows great. This is not our daily driver so we can live with it.
  • I have Timbrens on my 2015 F350 DRW...when I installed them, there was about 1/4 inch between the Timbren and the stub... Since I had an empty 100 gallon transfer tank at the time, I added the spacer, it sits on the stops empty (ride is a little pogo), but with fuel in the transfer tank, rides nice. Will be towing for the first time this week with the Timbrens installed....

I've heard of Ford rolling out new models early, but a 2915 F350 Dually already:B

just playing with you, I know it's a typo because I make so many of them myself, you only missed it by one key:)

Yeah, I have better than aluminum body and I don't have to use DEF, I can just pee in my own tank. ??

    Thanks for the catch.

  • My Timbrens seem to be doing what I wanted. I have about 3/4 inch clearance when not towing and then they are on the axle when I hook up the TT. I have taken the TT about 150 miles so far and the ride is good. So far I am glad I went with the Timbrens.
