Motor homes have tables to color at etc, fridges and bathrooms, that can be used while driving. Those things are nice. And all the toys, blankets, the rest of kid stuff are with you, not back in the trailer
Stay at places with pools and playgrounds, Stop for lunch along they way, and too sightsee a bit. Books electronics are nice.
Make a reservation for where you are going to be for the next night. KOA's are great for that and have an easy to use website. Nothing harder on a kid, then finding out where you thought you were going to stay is full and you end up driving hours more. ( we usually figure out at night where we want to go and what we want to see for the next day, and how far we want to drive, then log on and make a reservation, for that next koa)
And again the promise of a pool and a playground at the end of the day really gives the kiddo's something to look forward too.
And the dog will love the couch, as he watches the miles go by, barking at cows and horses.
Only way to travel with kids in my humble opinion
