When our kids were young Mom would read during the trip... that is how I learned about Harry Potter!

Portable DVD players were a blessing on long trips. A few different movies, headphones if needed, and the drive went quickly. Now everyone has a smartphone, or at least a laptop, so it is easy to watch a movie.

My parents would have kissed a car tire if electronics were available for car trips 40 years ago!!
