The first year I went to stay at on RV Park/Resort I did not own tire covers. After a month vacation I came home and found the wheels on the drivers side of the motorhome had hard water spots all over them and they took hours and hours of polishing to get them shinny again. The water spots came from the lawn sprinklers.
The next year I went on the same type of vacation I had tire covers for the left side and used them. Came home and no hard water spots and more time to do something else rather than polishing aluminum wheels.
This is why I use the tire/wheel covers.
