Tire Covers - Evidence or just belief?
Whenever I find parked motorhomes, I find some of them with tire covers, presumably to protect the tires from the sun. Now, off the top of my head this sounds like one of those "common sense" thing...

I was surprised on several occasions when I was hired to pull abandoned cars out of the woods or fields that had been there for 15-20 years or more and found at least some of the tires still fully inflated with no obvious cracking. I have no idea what that says about potential tire life or safety though, since I never ran any of them at 70 MPH on an interstate highway.
