Tire Covers cont...

I was reading the other thread about covers and was wondering if anyone has ever questioned covers causing tire damage. The photo below is a relatively new set of ADCO covers (two months or so) on a new set of Goodyear 614s. There is a noticeable brown stain where the tires contact the covers. Could the covers be drawing out any important chemicals/oils from the new tires?

  • I would remove the cover and see if the stain is on the inside of the cover. That brown color looks like dirt on the outside.

I have only ever had that happen once on my tire covers. Our prior rv ( class A) the tire covers leached out some of a protectant that my rv dealer had treated the tires with.

There is really nothing to be concerned.
  • Or are the covers reacting to chemicals in or on the tires?

Were the tires sprayed with anything?
I spray our tires with 303, if you rub the tire it will leave a stain on your clothing.

I don't know. It is an interesting question.
Hopefully another member has the answer.
