I have a question for Rvers here; Do you ever here of "balancing tires" One dealer does it the other doesn't see a need for it.
I've pulled trailers all of my adult life mostly to make a living and never heard of balancing a tire on a trailer till I became a RV.net member. Having logged in excess of 800k miles pulling trailers I never had any tire or vehicle damage as some have mentioned. On average I run my tires in the 50k-70 range before time or miles require new ones. I use only LT or P tires on any trailer.
Question 2: Do you ever here of rotating tires?
Another RV thing I guess. I've never rotated tires on a schedule.
The only tire dealer (commercial truck tire dealer) I've ever ran into that recommended balancing a tire on a trailer did so with the old on the vehicle spin balance machine. He match marked the tire to the wheel. Rotating just one lug different would show imbalance while spinning off the ground.
