Good point and one a excellent Goodyear truck tire dealer made to me in the early '80s.
I've found the heavier LT tire on my equipment trailers withstands that kind of "normal" abuse much better than the light weight ST tire even though the light weight ST tire has more load capacity.
Tires on our trailers operate in severe duty service 24/7 unlike a tires on a car or a empty truck. Those heavier tires payed for them selves in the long run.
