Hey everyone, My mother lives in a fifth wheel and I'm currently trying to deal with a possible toilet clog. The toilet is full currently, it's backed up into the bowl and it is going down but very slowly. Like a several days type slowly. We have tried to toilet snake it with a 1/4 snake both by going down the toilet, and by slicing a hole in the top side of the sewage hose and snaking up that way.The snake seems to flap all over, it doesn't appear to be hitting blockages, and when it comes out there's very little on it.I'm currently at a point where I'm wondering if it's possible the valve has broken and isn't opening, is that common? The actual pull valve on the side of the RV is SO stiff, it feels like the plastics going to snap off every time I pull on it, but it does still push it and pull out.My other question is the flush king attachment- I see a lot of great reviews and I'm fairly novice but even I feel like I could operate it, but does anyone have prior experience with it and whether or not it is possible to use when your toilet has standing water, or do you need to have a clear toilet to use it? If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know! I'm at a loss as to what to do next, and neither of us can really afford to bring an RV plumber specialist out ...Thanks everyone!!

More likely you have the infamous poo pyramid. Do you leave the black tank valve open all the time? If so, that's your problem. It is posible the valve broke but if you can fish a snake up past it, it's obviously open. The flush system is meant to be used on an empty, or near empty tank. DONT use it on a full, clogged tank.

If the wire connected to your gate valve is extremely hard to pull/push in your gate valve may not be opening properly. I just replaced ours for this reason.

I'll bet a poo pyramid with the valve left open as ScottG said.

Is it changeable without being emptied first? Do you recall how much the replacement was? I have been advised to use some good lubricant and try to get it working better but yes it's very very tight to push in and more specifically to pull out, she has no vehicle to actually move this thing so we're trying our best to figure it out in her current location:/ so no to the flush king with a full clog, thanks ??

Thanks! unfortunately I pretty much have tried all of this hence asking on a forum. As I stated, I've used a toilet snake EXTENSIVELY from both the toilet end and the sewage hose end, and my concern is that it comes out with little to nothing on it, it doesn't seem to be going through any blockages. Hence my concern about possibly the vent being closed... I can root around in there with a snake, but I can't really tell if the valve is closed or open anyways :/ it doesn't appear to be hitting a wall or any significant blockages, though

We had a poop buildup problem in our 2008 fifth wheel. I attached a nozzle to a length of hose and adjusted the nozzle to the highest pressure flow. I pressed the foot pedal to open the toilet and ran the nozzle down into the tank. With someone standing by to turn on the water (gradually, of course), a bit of work with the nozzle did the job of breaking up the pile.

I THOUGHT that I had been using plenty of water as recommended, but eleven seasons of camping was enough to form a blockage.

I threw the hose away, of course.

I'm with the valve not opening when you pull the cable crowd. If you post the model of 5th wheel, someone may be able to point you to the valve location for a visual inspection.

Thanks Roy, I've been recommend a toilet wand also the problem is right now the toilet is full and just sooo slowly draining. it's a real pain in the butt having to walk over to a washroom etc for her but I'm hoping with another day or so of time it will drain so that at least the bowl is empty, and I can try the hose idea!

Great idea, headed over there in a couple hours to take another look today so I'll take a few pictures! Thanks a lot everyone.
