Toilet Paper Disintegration ......the Champ !

I have found Consumer's Reports to be a very poor judge of anything.. For example they panned things like the heater and legroom in a Ford Escort but praised them in the Mercury tracer.

Save for the name plates.. there is 100% parts interchangability between those two cars.. THEY ARE THE SAME IDENTICAL CAR.. yet one had a great heater one a poor one, one great legroom and headroom one not so good... Mercury (The one they like) carried a higher price tag back then. They are biased big time,.

Up & Up TP from Target and Nice Premium Ultra from Walgreens scored excellent in disintegration but not so good in other aspects.

Yeah the macerator looks like "just a fancy toy" until you can't get the trailer within 50 feet of your septic tank and don't have enough fall for a gravity dump even if you had enough hose. The only time it gets used is at the house. I guess compared to your fancy fence post, even my factory installed hose storage tube seems like overkill.

And I have yet had ANY problems with TP, poop pyramids or draining of tanks.

Folks don't give a second thought about TP at home yet that TP & stuff gets flushed down a long slightly sloped drain line with a 1 1/2 gallon of water and then sits somewhere in the line waiting for the next flush of water.

I just don't see the advavtage of a macerater! I installed the 5" vinyl fence post for the not so stinky slinky and all the fittings. Macerater looks like just a fancy toy!
I have three tanks black, galley, and grey and I drain in that order. I take a shower every day so the grey tank has plenty of clean soapy water to do the final flush of the slinky!!

I always use the stuff that dissolves quickly. When I first started RV'ing I didn't and once had a heck of a plug in my tank after a weekend of camping. Thankfully it broke loose and the tank emptied out.

Now to sit back and wait for the seasonally annual "pyramid of poo" question, soon to be posted by the first person wanting to go camping but who didn't fully empty the black tank at end-of-season last year...:B

I had a bad experience with a pickle once!
