toilet seal replacement
how hard to replace the little sliding toilet seal ,in the bottom of the toilet? does not hold water anymore. Thank you

Mine is a two piece toilet. Remove a metal band around the middle and the top half comes off exposing the rubber seal around the ball. Pretty easy for that type toilet. Stopped holding water several years ago and after replacing the seal it held water until this year. Not having time to replace the seal right way I got some plumbers silicon grease and rubbed it all over the ball. Holding water fine again so I may or may not replace the seal again. The grease is an easy try.
