Following your free money argument, shouldn't they just take any amount you offer and allow you to stay as long as you want since it is "free money"? Then maybe your place of employment will follow suit and require you to come in early and leave late because, after all, your current pay is "free money"
I'm not asking them to hold a space for me. Just asking for flexibility: IF the space is available, let me move in earlier. Or otherwise, offer to let me park my trailer in the overflow lot and move it into the space later.
Like almost any hotel would do. We have frequently called a hotel and asked about early checkin and never got such inflexibility. They always offered to let us know if the room is available sooner and often it is. Or have offered to hold our luggage for us if not. Some flexibility.
And in these cases, I am quite sure there were plenty of spaces free because I checked the reservation system. You would think they would be more accommodating instead of turning away a customer and free money.
