I'm not sure I get this. You arrived at 8pm to stay the one night and she wanted to charge you for two nights? Or you arrived at 8 pm to stay two nights but only wanted to pay for one night?
If the former, then it might have been a park with a two night minimum stay. In that case she was understanding to let you off the hook for the second night. If the latter, you were staying two nights and should be paying for two nights.
Yeah I understand the confusion, and I get your response, it seemed right at the time but after about 15 years and retelling it, I even confused myself
