this reminds me of a situation earlier this year; Check out time is 3PM and we were planning on leaving close to 3PM; The next campers arrived at 11Am and walked over to our site and asked when we were leaving. I said about 3PM - they then made it very clear that THEY were here and "expected" us to leave early !!
I think the next words out of my mouth were "go pound some sand".
For the next 4 hours, they kept walking around the campground checking on us every 30 mins or so.
(this was a state park - so anybody can drive into the campsite with no security gate)
