Hurricanes don't scare me. Been through more than I can count. Oh yes, I most definetly respect them. I can see a hurricane coming & prepare for it.

Tornados are a different animal. The chances of getting hit by a tornado are extremely slim but wow those things pack a punch.

The plan here is to have all important documents together in a ditch bag & be ready to abandon the trailer at very short notice.

When someone started citing statistics and what else has a higher probability of killing you, I thought about shark attacks (having grown up next to the Pacific). Then I remembered the Sharknado movies and how Hollywood has managed to combine those two fears.

They may be infrequent (depending on your idea of infrequent) but, they are not mild

You can hide from a tornado and there is a good chance you will survive. There is no hiding from a earthquake. Nowhere is safe.

One of the largest earthquakes in the USA was in the midwest as well, the New Madrid fault.

I dont know, I think I will go for hurricanes. At least you have several days warning to run away.
