Craftsman no longer offer the lifetime guarantee on torque wrenches. Given the quality of craftsmen products the last several years, I understand why they stopped. It is sad to see a once good tool line go downhill.
I keep mine in its original case between uses. Many people just throw it into the bottom of their tool chest where it gets dropped, shaken, and bumped until the next use, then wonder why it is out of calibration.
Very few shops will look up the exact specs for your wheels. Very few actually use a manual wrench either. Most just use whatever the air wrench is set at. Even if the shop owner knows the numbers and wants to properly torque the lug nuts, will the minimum wage high school dropout in the back actually doing the work do it right? I stand in the doorway and watch them and generally make a nuisance of myself when anyone is working on MY rig. Did not three step the lug nuts at 35, 70, and 105 in the cross pattern per the owner manual? Go back and do it again! The worker just scowls at me while the owner, watching from afar, smiles.
