Still hashing out settlement with adjuster, who will not budge. I'm going to call the at fault driver's ins. Company today and start working with them. However, the current adjuster asked for a copy of the title, so the rig " doesn't go anywhere" while we continue to settle this. Any idea why he wants it? Just curious, I'm not giving him the copy, but why does he want it? He's not forthcoming with formation.Thanks

I would not deal with that guy at all and certainly dont give him the title. If you want to stir him up, ask him "To whom does my lawyer send the Letter Of Intent".I have seen them come around very quickly after that.

If your title shows the amount of tax paid, it will tell adjuster how much you paid for RV.Jerry

May have no relevance here but when we had a vehicle totaled we gave our pink slip to our insurance company when they paid us off.

Maybe he needs to verify that you are the owner or if there is a loan against it.A copy yes, the original,no

Time to get your insurance company involved and to go to bat for you. No idea why, other than so if the total it, you don't sell it and double dip. Which to me raises a big RED flag about the company.

When the check arrives yes otherwise no. Tell him to do the job of adjuster.

I can't imagine why he would need it as he should already have all the information that would be on the title and a copy isn't going to keep the rig "from going anywhere". Insurance already has the VIN, lien holder (if any), and all you info that would be on the title.

Maybe just to make sure you actually own it? I don't see what the big deal is. They are in essence buying it from you. If you were buying a car you wouldn't hand over money without the title.

Talk to YOUR insurance agent, and listen to his advise. He works for you.
Let him deal with the adjuster and the other insurance company. Hang on to the title till you see the check, and sign the release.
