the advantages to a trailer (just my opinion, of course):
1. No argument or discussion about brakes; YES, they are required on all wheels of a trailer in nearly every state, although it appears that in some states brakes may be only required on one axle. Some states have a weight limit, as in any trailer over 1500 lbs. unladen or over 3000 lbs. GVWR must have brakes.
2. Can be backed up any distance, even around corners, depending only on the skill of the driver.
3. Can be used to haul other "stuff" as needed (I used mine mostly for hauling hay).
4. No problem about how to hookup lights.
5. ANY vehicle up to the weight and/or size limit of the trailer can be loaded.
6. NO wear and tear on the bearings (or other running gear) and tires of the towed vehicle. Trailer tires and bearing are often cheaper than those on the towed vehicle.
Everything has both advantages and disadvantages. It is up to each of us to decide what we can live with. Good luck.
