It looks like it's the same setup as my Ready Brute. The cable on the surge piston attaches to the brake pedal on the toad.
I have a Ready Brute setup on my Jeep Wrangler that I tow behind my Roadtrek. I've made three trips into the Rockies with it and never had a single problem. It's a fool-proof system that is very simple to hook up and unhook from. Also being a completely mechanical system there's nothing to worry about failed electronics and such.
In addition, I ran a Cool-Tech wire harness in the Wrangler so I can plug into the trailer connector on the Roadtrek and I installed a battery cut-off switch on the Wrangler. When I'm hooked up the Jeep is just an expensive trailer with fully working clearance, tail, brake lites and turn signals all run off the Roadtrek.
