Yes, this system is very similar to the ReadyBrute/Readybrake system. Works off same principle, and is a great approach to toad braking.
Only thing I've noted about Blue Ox's Autostop that I don't like compared to ReadyBrake: It seems, the Autostop has a few more moving parts inside (uses pulleys for the cable). This could make it a bit more prone to breaking and having issues in the long run.
That, and Readybrake has had their system out there on the market for many years and has a great, well proven track record. Blue Ox's Autostop has not been out nearly as long, and you don't hear about very many people using it.
For those reasons, I prefer the Readybrake of the two, even though the Autostop is probably a great system, too.
