Tow dolly alignment (fixed frame)

Hello everyone,

New to the forum here. Just purchased a used tow dolly (can't tell the brand or if it was home made). I have rented and used some before, but first time I buy one. The issue is that it sways while driving at highway speeds (~60mph) when empty to the point where I can feel it in the car I'm using to tow it (2006 Chevy Impala 3.9L with Class II hitch receiver). I just purchased it on Saturday and have not had time to try it with load on.

I was reading on other threads that alignment might play a factor into this. I did a rough measurement of the front and back of the tires and it seems to be toe out by about an inch. So I figured the first thing to try is to get it aligned. Tires look fine, no un-even wear. They are 14's radial.

My question is: Where can I get it aligned? I have called at least 3 utility trailer service places and none of them work with tow dollies (only 18-wheelers). I also called 2 smaller trailer service shops and they do not align tow dollies. The only one that I was able to get some sort of a positive response was from a BigTex trailer service center in Odessa, TX (about 5 hrs away from where I currently am). But even then, they said they would have to look at it first to determine if they can do anything.

I don't really know where else to ask. If you could give me any pointers that would be great. I am in the Dallas/Fort-Worth Area in Texas. I am surprised that such a big metropolitan area does not have somewhere to align tow dollies. But maybe I am not looking in the right place.

Thanks,
Leonardo

PS: I will post some pictures of the dolly later today when I get back home.
