Tow Dolly

I'm about to buy my first MH and looking for a tow dolly. I really like the Demco Kar Kaddy SS but its a bit more than I wanted to spend. I've also looked at American Car Dolly and Eze Tow Dolly which is closer to my budget. I like the Eze tow dolly because you can stand it on its back for storage, but am not crazy about the wheel size (10"). The American Car Dolly also looks good and is priced right and has 14" wheels.

I was hoping to find a used Demco Kar Kaddy SS but unfortunately I haven't seen any online (within driving distance from NY/NJ).

Any suggestion on which tow dolly to get.
  • Keep in mind that some manufacturers make two sizes of dollys. Make sure your vehicle will fit!
I know where there is an older Demco Kar Kaddy for sale, but it is a LONG way from you!
  • We have a Master Tow Dolly and are the 3rd owners of it. Except for tires we have not done anything to it and it still works wonderfully. We bought it off of Craig's list for $175. Shop around, used dollys are always available.
  • I was very happy with my Demco Karkaddy II, which I used frequently for 25 years. We now tow flat. Another brand to look at is Acme Tow Dolly. Seems to have a good following. Regardless of your choice, make sure the unit has surge brakes. Really. Happy Trails.
