Many of the newer 3500 SRW Rams have GVWRs up to 12400 lbs which is well above most one ton DRW GVWR out here on the road.
However as most folks know its not GVWR that determines a trucks payload.
A particular one ton DRW with the same 12400 GVWR may have 8500-9800 RAWR for a higher payload vs a 12400 SRW with the smaller 7000-7050 RAWR and a smaller payload.
HOWEVER a higher GVWR means a higher GCW. The '13 Ram SRW with its 12400 GVWR can pull more combined (GCW) than many DRW trucks with smaller GVWR on the road. This would only apply to those owners who live in a state/province that requires a GCW registration or those RV folks that use their trucks also to pull some type of combination commercially.
