My 2000 reg cab weighs all of 4800 lbs sitting there empty! IIRC the 81 reg cab I had with a 292 I6 was about the same, just under 5000 lbs empty. Those added on doodads do add weight to a rig. Power windows are about 30-35lbs PER DOOR! AC is around 20, cruise control is 2 lbs! So yeah, someone can get a reg cab to be in the 5500-6000 lbs empty range real easy!
