One more for the ReadyBrake or the ReadyBrute integrated tow bar/braking/breakaway system.
IMO, there is nothing better. It is simple, purely mechanical (no fancy electronics to malfunction), relatively inexpensive, can be purchased as a unit or as a system to work with ANY tow bar, and it just works!
There have been VERY few failure reports.
When it comes time to get a braking system for the truck, the ReadyBrake is the ONLY one I will consider!
..What mowermech (and the others) said about Readybrake. We use the Readybrake, have used it on two different towed vehicles now. AFAIC, there is no other braking system to consider.
Especially if you haven't bought a tow bar yet, and can get their ReadyBrute Elite that gives you both a tow bar AND braking system for almost same $$ you'd pay for just a tow bar from anyone else. A good $1k or more savings over what you'd pay buying a separate braking system like RVi, Brakebuddy, Patriot, or whatever.
